Neurodivergence | Disability | Children’s Literature
My research has recently focused on representations of autism in children’s picturebooks and middle grade novels, and I have several forthcoming articles on this topic accepted in Children’s Literature Association Quarterly, the Routledge Companion to Gender and Childhood, Jeunesse: Young People, Texts, Cultures. I am also in the process of building a bibliography of works that feature autistic and neurodivergent characters. Other areas of interest include gender, book bans and challenges, and postsecularism.
